Welcome to St James’ Church of England Primary School

‘A Christian Community Achieving Excellence and Equality’

Thank you for visiting our school web-site we do hope that you find it helpful and interesting. Although the web-site provides lots of information there is nothing like a visit to the school to see what it is really like. If this would be of interest, please contact our school office to arrange an appointment.

At St James’ we provide an education based on Christian values. These values underpin all that we do, in our work and in our play. They are at the very heart of our school community and can be felt in the positive ethos we have.

Our happy, caring and friendly Christian School is a special place, where we all work and worship together to help us all:-

Be the best that we can
Feel good about ourselves
Use our god given talents and abilities to help others
Care for each other and people in the local and wide community
Look after god’s created world

We are privileged to have a close partnership with St James’ Church and while we are in interregnum are being supported by Fr. John and Fr. Richard for our Friday Eucharist services..

The school has been through a difficult time and this was reflected in the recent Ofsted Inspection. We have taken the findings of the report and acted on them. We have improved in many ways already and know what we need to do next. We have a great team in the school and the staff are all working together to make the changes. Fortunately for us we have delightful pupils and supportive parents to help us on the journey.

Severe Weather Closure

In the event that we have to close the school due to bad weather either before school or during the school day we will:

  1. Send a text message to all parents via our text service.
  2. Send an email to all parents .
  3. Put a message on the front page of our school website.

It is very important that if you have had a new mobile that you make sure you let the office know any new numbers so that we can update our text service.

If you do not receive our newsletter via email, please make sure that you give the office your email address or check that we have your correct address.

We will endeavour to make any decision about school closure by 7am.

Here is our Vision Statement:
